November 2022 Services

Hybrid services are now being offered each Sunday. You can join in person, by phone, or online via Zoom. Please call or e-mail the Fellowship if you need more information.

November 6th – at 10:45 a.m.  – Bob Clegg – “The Stuff of Patriotism”

This Tuesday, November 8, is our country’s traditional Election Day. If two people talk honestly and for long enough, they’ll eventually arrive at some point where they disagree. So, to choose between candidates and between issues can be complicated. By considering examples ranging from Liz Cheney to Ketanji Brown Jackson, we will investigate how prioritizing our values can help us make choices that are consistent with our UU principles.

November 13th – at 10:45 a.m.  – JD Stillwater – “Defiant Love”

What are we, crazy?! Some aspects of our inherited cultural system are clearly harmful to our planet, our descendants, and our own humanity. How did this happen? In the context of our damaged and dysfunctional culture, acting with honor for our ancestors, respect for ourselves, and love for future generations often looks like rudeness or radical defiance. Sometimes, Love requires us to defy our own heritage.

JD will lead a discussion following the service. Plan to stay to share your thoughts.

November 20th at 10:45 a.m. – John Fulda, UUFGC Lay Minister – topic to be announced

November 27th at 10:45 a.m.“Recovery: It takes a community”

This service will be offered by Kristin Thomas and members of the Social Action Committee.
