“In Memory”
How do we create and honor a legacy? Why are we driven to leave a lasting impression, and why do we memorialize the memories and legacies of those who have been gone before? We will consider these questions and honor our own ancestors on this All Souls weekend.
November 10, 10:45 – Rev. Paul Britner
“Ethical Eating”
How we eat has tremendous social justice implications for our health, the environment, and the treatment of animals. This message likely will not produce a consensus on many of these issues, but it may provide a way to advance our common commitment to justice, equity, and compassion.

“Mystery: Koans of Science”
Today’s culture war pushes us to perceive spirituality and science as enemies, and holds up a false dichotomy between reason and mystery. The universe as science reveals it speaks only of transcendent unity, and holds up Mystery as both muse and ground of reason.

“Peter Mayer: Songs for the Human Journey”
“Blue Boat Home” (#1064 in Singing the Journey) is one of our favorite songs. For the singer/song writer Peter Mayer, this is one song from eleven albums which celebrates his journey from a Roman Catholic studying to be a Jesuit priest, to a UU sharing his story from Unitarian Universalist pulpits. Today we will listen with our ears and our hearts to songs about interconnectedness, life on earth, and the mysterious and wondrous fact of our existence. A 22-minute video of Peter’s song and sermon to Unitarian Universalist Santa Fe will serve as our own sermon. We close by singing “Blue Boat Home”. Finally, we will have time to share our responses to Peter’s journey as it illuminates our own life journey.
